Fallen PBA member Kenny Fox honored at the Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial service
On Saturday, September 7th 2013, the Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial service was held at the Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy to honor firefighters lost in the line of duty. At this service Kenny D. Fox, a 20-year veteran of the fire service and PBA member who served as the President of the Natchez Trace Chapter, was honored.
“In 2012, we mourned the loss of Fire Chief Kenny Fox, a 20-year veteran of the fire service. Chief Fox of Station #3 in Decaturville of the Decatur County Volunteer Fire Department, died from injuries sustained when the roof of a burning bar and grill collapsed upon him. A true hero, Chief Fox pushed two of his fellow firefighters from the building just before the roof gave way. Today, we honor the life of Chief Kenny Fox by adding his name to the memorial so we will always remember his legacy and so we will always remember that he gave his life to save others,” said Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Julie Mix McPeak.

“On behalf of Governor Haslam, the Department of Commerce and Insurance and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, I want to extend our deepest sympathies to the families of all fallen firefighters here with us today. Know that we cherish their memories through this memorial as important parts of our fire service history here in Tennessee. It is in the names of our brave, fallen firefighters that we come together. To the families of all fallen firefighters here today: As we observe the laying of the wreath and the reading of your loved ones’ names, know that the state of Tennessee holds dear both their sacrifice and yours. Thank you. God Bless this great nation and state, and May God bless the men and women of our fire service and their families,” said Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Julie Mix McPeak.
